We are seeking a Technical Assistant (m/f/d) for sugar beet resistance breeding as part of a replacement.
This position is to be filled as soon as possible in full-time with a permanent contract and to be based in Einbeck, Lower-Saxony, Germany.
Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct practical breeding work from seedling cultivation to seed harvest.
2. Support field and greenhouse trials, including scoring and labor organization.
3. Organize and conduct hand cross programs in the field and greenhouse.
4. Assist with resistance tests in the field and greenhouse.
5. Prepare and take samples for marker analysis and perform data analysis on the computer.
6. Manage data by entering, maintaining, and processing it in MS Office and databases.
7. Combine computer work with hands-on plant handling.
Your Qualifications:
8. Vocational training as a plant technologist, agricultural technician, or similar qualification.
9. Experience in practical plant breeding.
10. General understanding of breeding and genetics.
11. Good computer skills (especially MS Office) and ideally experience with breeding databases (IBIS, ACCESS).
12. Proficiency in German is required; English is desirable.
13. You are known for your flexibility; your ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
14. A class B driver’s license or willingness to acquire one promptly.
15. Willingness to travel occasionally during the season.
