Hauptaufgaben Checks all incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure validity of the material transactions. Verifies that documentation is complete and accurate. Determines whether turn-in transaction is authorized and meets criteria in DA USAREUR supply regulations before material is accepted. Physically checks material. Conducts visual inspection and inventory of items being turned-in to insure that material condition and quantity in agreement with documentation. Is required to instantly recognize those items that require special handling (hazardous, sensitive, pilferage) or are not the responsibility of the RSSA, i.e., medical material, ammunition, etc. Takes appropriate action based on regulatory requirements and standing operating procedures, and if item is not RSSA responsibility, directs unit supply personnel to the correct turn- in point within the USAREUR. Inventories major items, major assemblies, sets, kits and outfits against proper Technical Manual, Supply Bulletin or any other related publication to ensure that mission components are documented and properly accounted for. If discrepancies are detected informs unit supply personnel to correct paperwork or to request a re-inspection of material by competent technical inspector. Informs Lead Supply Clerk on discrepancies that cannot be solved on the spot. Assigns the best adequate warehouse location based on guidance from warehouse supervisor. Reports both location and receipt to stock control for posting to the stock accounting records. Conducts location surveys, inventories and other warehouse-related actions as required. Performs limited quality control and safeguards at all times. Disposes material as directed by the item manager or as response to machine generated material release order (MRO). Prepares off-line shipment documents for material classified as scrap and for which the automated system has not issued prior shipping orders. Insures that items requiring demilitarization are demilitarized prior to shipping to Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services (DLA Disposition Services). Incumbent must possess or obtain a motor vehicle and a material handling equipment operator's license. Incumbent operates Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on a daily basis to load/unload material. Drives military cargo vehicles to DLA Disposition Services at Grafenwoehr and K-Town as required. Occasionally drives to USAREUR turn-in points to turn-in major assemblies and components. Coordinates with Stock Control for release of material needed to be shipped out. Coordinates with TMP for transportation support on daily basis. Investigates and research trough supply catalogs to identify material turned-in without documentation. Performs other duties as assigned.
