3B Pharmaceuticals GmbH is a pharmaceutical biotechnology company, a leader in the discovery and optimization of peptides for the development of tumor-targeted radiopharmaceuticals. Our aim is to treat and diagnose cancers that are currently difficult to address. 3BP’s expertise ranges from substance identification to early clinical development.
The synthesis unit is a central element of 3B Pharmaceuticals, which is responsible for and has core competence in the production of research substances. This includes the synthesis from early selection hits to complex development candidates in cooperation with the Assay Technology, Analytics and Radiopharmaceutical Technologies teams.
For 3BP´s synthesis unit, we are looking for a scientist with relevant experience in early drug discovery and special expertise in organic synthesis and peptide synthesis.
Aufgaben
As part of our synthesis team of chemists and lab technicians, you will
* be responsible for the (peptide)-synthesis of our candidate molecules across different drug discovery projects,
* be involved in organizing laboratory operational routines, generating and overseeing protocols, data management and data analysis,
* be responsible for documentation, reporting, analysis and interpretation of all synthesis related results,
* coordinate and support routine synthesis of peptides both in house and with external manufacturers for our research programs,
* maintain and expand our large building block library,
* be responsible for databank registration and management of compounds,
* continuously improve and expand current synthesis capabilities and work on new protocols,
* support innovation in the synthesis unit and in the drug discovery programs.
As part of our project leader team, you will
* lead radiopharmaceutical drug discovery projects spanning from hit identification to the clinical development candidate,
* design drug candidates based on SAR analyses of biological assay data and preclinical in vivo studies (biodistribution, PK) as well as other analytical and stability data,
* work closely and communicate effectively within interdisciplinary project teams, with other project leaders and other stakeholders in the company,
* develop project strategies and present research results,
* support CMC for (pre)-clinical candidates by optimizing synthesis processes,
* use your profound understanding of molecule structure and properties, which will allow you to design drug candidates,
* use your strategic, proactive and adaptable mindset to drive project innovation forward.
Qualifikation
* PhD degree in chemistry or chemical biology with postdoctoral experience and/or academic or industrial experience in drug discovery
* Proven knowledge and extensive experience in organic chemistry
* Experience in peptide synthesis on solid supports and in solution
* Experience in leading interdisciplinary projects
* Excellent analytical and organizational skills
* Fluent in German (B2 or above)
* Proficiency in written and spoken English.
* High degree of self-motivation, independent working and interpersonal skills
* Professional experience in discovery / development of peptide drugs is a plus
* understanding of IT topics such as networks and databases is highly appreciated
* Knowledge of a programming language is a plus
* Experience in computational methods/AI/ML for drug design is a plus
