Key Responsibilities:
* Product Development Leadership: Play a pivotal role in the development of the next generation of Midea OBM brand products. This involves leading and overseeing various aspects of product design, development, and implementation, ensuring that new products align with market needs and company standards.
* Compliance and Quality Assurance: Take charge of ensuring that all products and processes comply with local and international legal and regulatory standards. This includes overseeing the certification processes and maintaining the highest quality standards in all aspects of product development and manufacturing.
* Local Testing and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive local testing and evaluations of products. This involves setting up and managing user trials, gathering and analyzing feedback, and making recommendations for improvements. Collaborate closely with the Wuxi headquarters to troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during testing.
* Competitive Intelligence: Monitor market trends, technological advancements, and competitor strategies to inform the R&D process and help the company maintain a competitive edge.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure a cohesive approach to product development. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
* Innovation and Strategy: Continuously seek innovative solutions and improvements in product design and functionality. Contribute to the strategic planning of product development to ensure alignment with the company’s long-term goals and market demands.
* Resource Management: Efficiently manage the resources of the German R&D Center, including budget, personnel, and equipment. Ensure optimal use of resources to achieve project objectives and drive the center’s growth and success.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and customers, to gather insights and feedback that can inform product development and strategies. Build and maintain strong relationships with these stakeholders to support the center’s objectives.
Requirement:
* A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.
* Proven experience in research and development, with a specific focus on overseeing projects related to washing machines/dryers or similar appliances.
* Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment. This includes excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects, with a keen understanding of project management principles and practices.
* A solid understanding of international standards and regulations in the appliance industry, with experience in ensuring products meet legal compliance and quality standards.
* Innovative and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify and act on emerging trends and technologies in the appliance industry.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to testing and evaluation.
* Willingness to travel internationally, particularly between the German R&D Center and the headquarters in Wuxi, as well as other global locations as needed.
