Therapeutics Communications Team Lead (m/f/d)
The Therapeutics Communications Team Lead (m/f/d) will be a crucial part of the German Communications Team. This role involves business partnering for the Specialty Care, Oncology, and ViiV Healthcare business units. The Therapeutics Communications Team Lead will be responsible for providing strategic counsel and developing comprehensive communication strategies that align with GSK's objectives and enhance the reputation of our therapeutic areas.
The Therapeutics Communications Team Lead (m/f/d) reports to the Director of Corporate Communications, Germany, part of the Communications, Government Affairs & Market Access (CGA&MA) team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Therapeutics Communications Team of 3, provide guidance to team members, ensure continuity and close collaboration where needed within the communications and wider CGA&MA team.
* Provide strategic communications counsel to senior management and support the team to manage comms with their stakeholders (business partnering model).
* Develop integrated, impactful, and measurable external and internal communications strategies for the Specialty Care, Oncology, and ViiV Healthcare business units, engaging employees and reaching key public audiences.
* Collaborate with local and global internal stakeholders, including commercial, medical, CGA&MA and others, to ensure consistent and effective communications.
* Oversee the creation of high-quality content, including press releases, media materials, and digital content, to support business objectives.
* Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including media and other CGA&MA stakeholders.
* Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven improvements.
* Protect and enhance the reputation of GSK through effective issue communications management of product and business-related issues.
* Ensure compliance with GSK's communication policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor’s degree
* Multiple years of experience in a communications role, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
* Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies that span primarily external communications channels
* Profound experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and project management.
* Crisis/issue management experience including experience in supporting key regulatory milestones
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
* Proficiency in media relations and digital communication channels
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
* Leadership experience preferred
* Master’s degree
* Familiarity with healthcare communications in Germany or similar countries
* Experience working in a fast-paced multinational organization
