BioNTech is seeking a highly talented and motivated computer scientist to support the development of our personalized cancer vaccine platform. Responsibility for software engineering of key parts of our personalized cancer vaccine platform, helping improve our code and adapting it, when needed, to changing clinical requirements
Improve the runtime performance of our infrastructure using advanced synchronization strategies, parallel processing (e.g., MPI) and GPUs
Responsibility for validation and deployment of clinical and academic releases of our software
Help support and improve our cloud-based infrastructure
Support developing, optimizing, and testing innovative bioinformatic methods for our personalized cancer vaccine platform and assist in data analysis
Support joint team projects, become a source of knowledge on all software-related issues for the team and help improve our team’s software infrastructure and its documentation
Develop expertise in cancer genomics, help create datasets and analyze them using state-of-the-art bioinformatic tools
Support publishing our research in scientific journals
PhD degree in computer science with a strong background in software engineering, NGS and bioinformatics
Expert-level knowledge in Java, Python, high performance computing (SLURM experience), cloud computing, parallel computing methods, GPUs, and devops tools such as version control, unit testing, and continuous integration and deployment methods
Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for your work, a systematic approach to problem solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality code
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent command of English
