We are looking for a Communications Manager (m/f/d) to join our Corporate Communications team. The Corporate Communications team serves the headquarters of the PHOENIX group and our German subsidiary PHOENIX Pharmahandel, both based in Mannheim, Germany. The role can be office or home-based, but regular travel to the headquarters in Mannheim, and occasionally other European locations, is required. We are looking for a full-time colleague but are open to part-time arrangements. The Communications Manager would join a dedicated team of 8 and report directly to the head of the department. The position is limited until 31 December 2025.
Your Tasks
1. Conceptualising, coordinating, and implementing communication campaigns on different subject matters across a large, decentralised organisation, including externally facing campaigns, both on strategic and operational level
2. Integrating communications efforts with cross-functional teams such as Public Affairs, Commercial/Marketing, Human Resources, and other internal stakeholders to ensure strategic, consistent, and effective communications on key issues and initiatives
3. Regularly generating content for different internal and external communication channels depending on subject matter expertise, such as contributions to the employee magazine, the internal social media platform, external social media channels, our website and the intranet
4. Upholding our digital communication channels such as our employee app, our intranet and our website
5. Steering a network of communicators in different countries without direct report lines, fostering collaboration and best-practice exchange amongst them
6. Identify, contract, and manage agencies engaged to support communications activities
Your Profile
7. You look back on 5+ years of experience in in-house communications at a large, internationally operating company or the consultancy sector
8. You have strong and broad experience in both internal and external communications, ideally in a healthcare or pharmaceutical setting, and can communicate in the right tone with various target groups (customers, media and internal stakeholders)
9. You have a proven track record of working successfully with both C-level executives and subject matter experts
10. You effectively synthesise, visualise, and communicate ideas and can explain complex topics in simple terms. Video production skills are a plus.
11. You have exceptionally strong written communication skills, with high attention to detail and are proficient in content creation for digital channels and social media
12. You are a creative mind, but seek practical solutions, understanding the limitations of budgets and the timelines of large matrix organisations
13. You are a true team player and are willing to pitch-in on various other department’s projects as the need arises
14. You are a native or near-native German speaker and fluent in English.
