Dow Bomlitz CampusInternship - Development of a Migration Concept for Siemens I/O About you and this role We are looking for you, an ambitiousstudent (m/f/d),to support our Dow Construction Chemicals Business by doing an internship project inDevelopment of a Migration Concept for Siemens I/Ofor our location inBomlitz, Germany Dowis offering great career opportunities in a global and international environment. The department that will welcome you is the MC plant from Dow Construction Chemicals. Dow Construction Chemicals is a world-class provider of tailor-made additives for the construction industry. Especially, our cellulose ethers, which are produced in high class plants in Bomlitz, are important to provide superior application performance. The Bomlitz site has more than 180 employees and operates three production facilities. Project description A crucial part of our manufacturing technology is the proper control of the process. In our assets a commercial process control system (PCS), Emerson DeltaV, is used. For field communication this PCS deployes Siemens I/O modules. As these modules require replacement a strategy for migration needs to be developed. Goal is the identification of the most cost-efficient solution (installation costs & long-term cost of ownership), which meets all requirements and conditions from asset operations, execution schedule and resource demands. A strong collaboration with local and global Dow subject matter experts and external suppliers is essential for success. Responsibilities - Investigation of the installed technology - Identification of future options - Evaluation of these options and - Development of a migration strategy to implement preferred option Qualifications - You are currently studying for a bachelor/master's degree or equivalent in process automation or similar. - You have a good working knowledge of English. German is an advantage. - You have strong technological and computational skills. Preferred Skills - Knowledge of process control system architecture is an advantage - Good communication and interaction skills - Work in diverse and international teams Additional Note - You can start between April and July in 2025 for a period of 6 months (exact timing to be discussed). The project could be used for a mandatory industry internship or Bachelor/Master's thesis.
