The Head of Group Controlling ensures strong accounting and reporting throughout the Group, including overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment and providing strategic information and advice to the management team, primarily to the Group CFO. The position includes tasks in accounting such as preparing financial statements (HGB and potentially IFRS), budget reports, forecasts, cost analysis reports, P&L statements, as well as recommendations for improvements, spending and cost cuts.
Responsibilities
* Evolution and fine-tuning of the annual budgeting process with a stronger focus on alignment with corporate strategy
* Monthly and quarterly forecasting as well as monitoring and commenting on the monthly results and potential deviations from plan to management, investors, and banks
* Supporting but also challenging the two operational units on their monthly and quarterly forecasts
* Analysis of deviations and root causes as well as development of action plans to revert undesired trends in close collaboration with the two operational units
* Definition of the group reporting guidelines, accounting policies, and procedures as well as a roll-out across the Group
* Providing oversight, training, and guidance on all accounting procedures, presentation, and audit preparation
* Manage investor relations together with the CFO and CEO
* Providing the data needed to make informed business decisions and simultaneously guarantee the data quality
* Consolidation of the group level accounting (P&L, balance sheet)
* Identifying optimization potentials as well as implementation proposals
* Independent planning, instigation, and managing of strategic projects
* Ad-hoc analysis and management presentations
* Continuous development of controlling tools in collaboration with IT, Corporate Development, and other Finance colleagues
* Leading and developing the group finance team
* (Potentially) Involvement in business transactions and/or acquisitions
* PMI with regard to the relevant financial aspects
Key data for the position

Professional requirements
* University degree in Business, Finance (MBA) or equivalent (minimum bachelor’s degree)
* Very good corporate finance and accounting skills, ideally with an additional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CFA or similar
* 10+ years’ post qualification experience in senior accounting and controlling roles
* Excellent command of German and English
* Good IT knowledge and skills: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, BI-Systems (Jedox, Tableau), ERP (Navision) and consolidation (LucaNet)
* Previous experience in a production company is a big advantage (not mandatory)
