We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract for a high-speed rail project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the contract, ensuring seamless project execution, and managing a multidisciplinary team to deliver the project on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Important: The location of the job is in an APAC country; more details will be shared later in the process.

Responsibilities:
Contract & Project Management:
1. Lead and oversee all aspects of the high-speed rail PMC contract from inception to completion.
2. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with FIDIC contracts or equivalent.
3. Develop and implement project strategies, work plans, and risk management frameworks.
4. Manage project budgeting, cost control, and resources.
Leadership & Team Management:
1. Lead a diverse, multidisciplinary team of engineers, consultants, and technical experts.
2. Foster collaboration and synergy between teams, ensuring efficient project execution.
3. Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure successful project outcomes.
Systems Integration & Technical Oversight:
1. Manage systems integration across various rail disciplines, including civil, track, signaling, rolling stock, and operations.
2. Oversee the tendering process, including bid evaluations and contract negotiations.
3. Supervise testing and commissioning phases to ensure safe and efficient system deployment.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
1. Act as the primary liaison between the client, contractors, and other stakeholders.
2. Establish and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring alignment with project goals.
3. Represent the project in high-level meetings, reporting to senior leadership.
Qualification and Experience:
1. Engineering degree (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline).
2. 25+ years of experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
3. 15+ years of experience in high-speed rail projects with a deep understanding of PMC contract management.
4. Proven expertise in contract administration, risk management, tendering, and procurement.
5. Strong knowledge of the complete lifecycle of high-speed rail projects.
6. Experience managing testing & commissioning of high-speed rail systems.
7. Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
8. Strong ability to resolve conflicts, drive decision-making, and deliver results in complex environments.
Preferred Skills & Competencies:
1. Experience working in Southeast Asia or international high-speed rail projects.
2. Knowledge of international railway standards and best practices.
3. Proficiency in railway safety standards, quality assurance, and risk management.
4. Understanding of electrification (OHE), track systems, signalling, and rolling stock integration.
5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
6. Fluency in English (Thai language skills would be an advantage).
