Signaling via ion channel receptors is pivotal for the function of the nervous system and various neurological diseases. Our goal is to characterize acid-sensing ion channels at the molecular, cellular, and organismal levels. Currently, we focus on the characterization of auxiliary proteins. For comparison, we also characterize ion channels from different model organisms. In addition to electrophysiology, we employ state-of-the-art molecular, cellular and chemical biology techniques. You will be part of a highly motivated, friendly, multidisciplinary, international team.
