The Robert Bosch GmbH is looking forward to your application Job Description We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team, focusing on software-defined industrial automation. This includes the transformation from hardware-based to software-defined functionality such as virtualized Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful projects that enhance the efficiency and flexibility of industrial automation systems. During your internship, you will collaborate with experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience developing key software solutions that will drive the next-gen industrial automation. You will work in a cross-functional team to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. In addition, you will be involved in research activities to explore new technologies and methodologies in software-defined industrial control and virtualization. Furthermore, you will design and implement software functionality for virtualized PLC applications, working alongside senior engineers. Last but not least, you will regularly prepare, present and discuss key results with the team and relevant stakeholders. Qualifications Education: Master studies in the field of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or comparable Experience and Knowledge: strong programming skills in languages such as C, Go, and/or Python; familiarity with Linux system internals (including real-time scheduling, kernel subsystems, networking); understanding of industrial automation concepts, including PLCs, is a plus Personality and Working Practice: you are able to analyze complex problems quickly and prioritize tasks effectively Enthusiasm: a passion for technology and innovation Languages: fluent in English, German is a plus Additional Information Start: according to prior agreement Duration: 6 months Requirement for this internship is the enrollment at university.
