ISS is immediately seeking a Research Analyst for the Germanic region. You will analyze corporate governance and financial information and write research reports on publicly traded companies in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, based on ISS' voting guidelines. The position will be based in Berlin.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Analyze corporate governance and financial information to write detailed research reports on publicly traded companies
2. Issue proxy vote recommendations for shareholder meetings
3. Engage with companies and institutional investors on shareholder meetings
4. Answer internal/external queries on research reports
5. Contribute articles to regular ISS publications
6. Assist with policy formulation
7. Participate in various projects and development opportunities
8. Develop market expertise in corporate governance, investment and shareholder issues
QUALIFICATIONS
9. Good understanding of finance/capital markets and corporate governance, preferably with prior experience in corporate governance/investment analysis/research with a focus on the Germanic markets
10. Relevant Masters' degree, e.g. law, economics, finance, business or political science
11. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German and/or French is a plus
12. Very strong oral and written communication skills
13. Very strong analytical ability, with the ability to assimilate large quantities of information
14. Excellent eye for detail
15. Ability to work independently and take initiative while also working successfully in a team environment
16. Organized and structured mind, with excellent time management skills: able to deal with large quantities of work and strict deadlines, particularly during the season of Germanic general meetings.
