Responsibilities Identifies and evaluates financial asset management controls, determines the accuracy and completeness of documentation and procedures. Uses testing, analyzing and evaluating operations, using advanced audit techniques such as computer database analysis or statistical sampling. Performs unannounced cash counts and internal control reviews for all IMWRF activities. Documents all cash counts and notifies the DFMWR, division chiefs and activity managers of the results of the reviews. Discusses significant findings with the supervisor prior to staffing with outside organizations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Progressive work experience, which demonstrates an acquired knowledge of the theories, principals, practices and techniques of performing investigations and studies as described above. Must have knowledge of double-entry accrual method of accounting demonstrated through work experience or education that reflects ability to perform audit assignments. Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. Experience in word-processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Must have experience in leading or working in a team. Must possess good written and oral communication skills. Applicants meeting the below highly qualifying criteria in the assessment questionnaire will be forwarded to management for consideration first. - Experience and ability to interpret, apply and audit internal/management controls. - Experience and understanding of accounting principles and ability to read, interpret and analyze income/financial statements. - Experience with operating/auditing Point of Sale systems such as RecTrac. - Experience analyzing, interpreting, and communicating data. - Experience and proficient use/ability in Microsoft 365 applications (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, Excel) - Experience in conducting disinterested inventory - Experience in Risk Management Internal Control Education There is no educational substitution for the experience required for this position.
