The Global Business Lead is responsible for the management of a team of CDMO modality Business Leads who will develop and implement holistic, long-term business plan for each of the CDMO modalities as well as managing short term goals. As owner of the modality(ies) P&L, each Business Lead orchestrates the cross-functional leadership teams incl. relevant Operations functions and manufacturing sites to establish strategy and positioning, ensure differentiation of services offerings, define investments and R&D portfolio, marketing mix and go-to-market strategy. Key Accountabilities:Strategy & Market Intelligence• Maintain strong understanding of global key markets, define requirements & support execution of market & competitor assessments, VOC, capabilities & competitive positioning studies jointly with Divisional Strategy. • Develop modality strategy incl. the mid-/long-term business plan, growth ambition, resource and capacity needs and technical/operational capabilities jointly with Divisional Strategy .• Strategy Execution: Establish business cases for innovation, infrastructure, and investments and manage execution. Own services portfolio, its positioning and life cycle • Define services offer and evolve business models and value creation models in line with market needs.• Drive development of new offerings by steering innovation of template & service development in close collaboration with Innovation Teams as well as driving partnering, licensing and M&A activities. Go-to-market / Marketing Plan • Define GTM strategy incl. customer segmentation and client target profile to guide commercial efforts.• Develop and roll out annual marketing plan of actionable marketing campaigns, tactics, and compelling content to generate leads and enable Commercial teams.• Develop multi-channel marketing campaigns in cooperation with the Marcom team.• Advise on customer / opportunity selection based on fit to defined service offering and strategy. Pricing & Contracting• Define pricing strategy and own pricing governance & framework development. • Develop & drive price increase campaigns, support implementation & monitor success.• Align with Commercial on contract framework and review of large contracts / margin targets. Who you are:• Bachelor’s Degree and Advanced degree (Masters / Ph.D.degree in Chemistry, Biologics Sciences or Biotech/Life Science MBA, or concepts in marketing, sales management and strategic operations is a plus)• 10+ years of leadership experience• 10+ years of experience in CDMO or equivalent services industry• Full P&L management experience• Strong experience with matrix teams and building consensus across all levels of the organization• Strong cross-functional communication abilities across both Operations and Business communities.• Leadership skills in managing change, influencing others outside areas of direct responsibility, attracting/developing talent• Highly developed interpersonal skills, drive to succeed, motivator of people • Strong situational leadership - ability to couple high performance standards and can-do attitude with strong coaching, and empowerment approach• Ability and proven track record to build and grow high performing teams• Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills based on analytical strengths, active listening, and a diversity mindset• Identify gaps in performance limiting our ability to meet/exceed customer and market expectations• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of internal and external stakeholders Location: Europe or US
