Role / Title:
* The Head of Operations has a strategic and tactical responsibility for overseeing the operational activities of a business and ensures that the workforce is productive. Their duties include working with other senior staff on strategic planning, ensuring that staff are all aware of operational best practices and implementing new technologies.
* The Head of Operations will be responsible for overseeing many different areas of the business having a wide range of duties, including:
* Managing budgets
* Recruiting, interviewing and hiring staff
* Analyzing productivity data and optimizing staffing and production capacity
* Using historical records to forecast future buying patterns
* Maintaining a working knowledge of their industry including challenges and opportunities in the sector
* Working closely with other heads of departments to improve efficiency
* Creating and delivering presentations
* Designing new processes to improve quality or increase productivity or profitability
Principal Accountabilities:
In brief, you will be responsible for:
* Lead and manage all operational activities within the Europe Region.
* Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to enhance productivity.
* Oversee production schedules, inventory, and workforce management.
* Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet productivity and quality targets.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
* Collaborate with other departments to align operations with business objectives.
* Lead and mentor the operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Manage operational budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation.
* Analyze operational data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
* Develop project plans.
* Manage project stakeholders and risks.
* Supervise daily operations of manufacturing, production, and logistics.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency.
* Manage budgets and ensure cost-effective operations.
* Lead and mentor the operations team to foster professional growth.
* Coordinate with other departments to align operational goals with business objectives.
* Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to inform decision-making.
* Oversee quality control and ensure product standards are met.
* Implement safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements:
* Bachelors or Master of Engineering with 15+ years of experience in operations or operations management related areas.
* Demonstrated expertise in phase gate processes, economics calculations, waterfall analysis, sensitivity analysis, and the ability to articulate the main objectives of capital projects to business leadership.
* Solid experience and understanding of cost estimation, cost control, planning and scheduling, to review projects and mentor project teams.
* Preferred background from Chemical, Automotive, Steel/Mining Industries.
* Preferred experience on Footprint or major Brownfield projects.
* Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office.
* Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
* Experience with budgeting and cost management.
* Proficiency in ERP and other relevant software tools.
* PMP Certification is a plus.
* Ability to add value, reduce costs, and make business improvements.
* Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Project management skills.
* Fluent in English for writing and oral communication.
