Our client, a well-established organization with a global footprint, is seeking a CFO to take responsibility for financial strategy, reporting, and governance. This role involves overseeing finance, controlling, and accounting, as well as IT, with the potential to expand into HR and broader corporate responsibilities following an initial period of adaptation.
This role requires both strategic leadership and operational expertise, as the CFO will be expected to drive financial efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to key business decisions. Additionally, the CFO will play a role in international financial management, taking on advisory or executive responsibilities within the company’s various business units. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and will work closely with senior leadership to support long-term business objectives. A key aspect of the role will be balancing financial control with forward-thinking initiatives to drive company growth.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented yet capable of maintaining a broad perspective, ensuring financial stability while also identifying opportunities for strategic development. They will be responsible for setting financial policies, implementing financial controls, and ensuring transparency in reporting.
Minimum Requirements:
* Extensive experience in Financial Management, including Controlling, Accounting, and Compliance
* Strong knowledge of IFRS standards and financial reporting principles
* Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on operational financial management
* Leadership skills, with the ability to set goals, drive performance, and foster a collaborative team environment
* Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
* Experience in supporting business restructuring initiatives
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in IT and digital transformation projects
* Exposure to managing financial operations in international environments
* Familiarity with financial systems and ERP software, particularly SAP
* Background in corporate governance and risk management
The preferred location for this role is Hamburg, though occasional travel will be required.
