Chief Finance Officer

Job Summary:
Our Group is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & Head of Finance to oversee financial operations, compliance, and governance across all global entities. The CFO will be responsible for ensuring financial integrity, statutory compliance, and efficient financial management while aligning with corporate strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & Collaboration:
o Develop and implement global financial strategies to support business growth and sustainability.
o Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance adherence across all entities.
o Lead global finance teams, ensuring best practices in financial management, risk assessment, and compliance.
o Act as a key liaison between investors, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders.
2. Go-to-Market Strategy:
o Partner with marketing and sales leadership to develop and execute new go-to-market strategies that drive market penetration and revenue growth.
o Assess financial implications of different business models (e.g., SaaS, subscription, freemium) to recommend the most profitable and scalable approach.
o Lead pricing strategy development, including competitive analysis, product bundling, and discounting frameworks.
3. Risk Management & Compliance:
o Oversee internal controls, audits, and compliance to ensure financial practices adhere to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
o Manage company-wide financial risks, including currency fluctuations, global taxation, and exposure related to software licensing and data privacy.
4. Strategic Business Partnering:
o Work closely with the executive team to shape overall business strategy, identifying growth opportunities, cost optimization, and efficiency improvements.
o Collaborate with product, sales, and marketing teams to support product launches, pricing strategies, and revenue models for new markets.
o Develop financial strategies that support our goals of scaling its software products globally, while maintaining agility and profitability.
5. Financial Strategy and Planning:
o Develop and implement the company's financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
o Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, contributing to long-term planning and decision-making.
6. Budgeting and Forecasting:
o Lead the budgeting process and develop accurate financial forecasts.
o Monitor financial performance against budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
7. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
o Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs).
o Provide regular and ad-hoc financial reports to executive leadership.
8. Controlling and Risk Management:
o Establish and maintain effective financial controls to safeguard company assets.
o Identify and assess financial risks, implementing measures to mitigate potential issues.
9. Cash Flow Management:
o Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity needs are met and optimize investment opportunities.
o Implement strategies to improve working capital efficiency.
10. Tax Planning and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and reporting requirements.
o Work with external tax advisors to optimize the company's tax position.
11. Team Leadership and Development:
o Lead and mentor the finance and controlling teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
o Develop team members through training, coaching, and career development opportunities.
Qualifications:
* Extensive experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably in a software product or technology-driven company.
* Strong knowledge of German trading regulations (HGB) and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
* Strong knowledge of global financial regulations, corporate governance, and statutory compliance.
* Proven expertise in convening and managing board meetings, AGMs, and regulatory filings.
* Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
* Deep understanding of banking operations, financial risk management, and intercompany transactions.
* Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelors or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or CA are an advantage.
* Experience in managing global finance teams and cross-border financial operations.
