Tasks & responsibilities - In your new role, you will be responsible for the design, execution, and documentation of scientific experiments in line with goals and objectives of the CRM Diseases Research department at Boehringer Ingelheim. - You will set up and apply state-of-the-art technologies for performing electrophysiological recordings and functional imaging in acute rodent brain sections and cultured cells using genetically encoded and chemical sensors. - Your experimental studies and respective data will support internal research projects and thereby contribute to the success of our drug discovery pipeline. - Furthermore, you will engage in cross-department collaboration, data analysis, and reporting within interdisciplinary teams and to management. - Your role will also include training and supervision of students and technical staff. - Additionally, you will take part at internal and external meetings and publish break through research in agreement with company guidelines. Requirements - PhD degree in Biology or related discipline with expert knowledge in neuroscience and -physiology - Extensive hands-on experience in establishing electrophysiological and functional imaging measurements in acute tissue preparations - Expertise in molecular biology and experience with application of viral vectors highly advantageous - Demonstrated track record of publishing in scientific journals - Ability to work in a drug discovery-oriented environment and multidisciplinary teams - Fluency in English written and spoken is required, German is an advantage Ready to contact us?
