Hauptaufgaben Performs a variety of repetitive tasks involved in the maintenance, renovation and modification of ammunition, ammunition components and explosive items. Visually inspects items for proper identification and condition and informs supervisor accordingly on obvious defects. Performs a variety of manual assembly or disassembly duties on a production line type operation, which involves working at several different workstations. Assembles or disassembles ? under close supervision of a Quality Assurance Specialist (Ammunition) ? complete end items, major subassemblies or component parts as called for in the job order. Operates pneumatic and/or electric driven machines, both automatic and semiautomatic, either directly or by remote control, whereby the machines operated are typically preset and adjusted. Operatesstencil cutting equipment to prepare stencils for proper marking of ammunition, ammunition components and packing material IAW drawings and instructions. Performs preventive maintenance on the machinery operated. If required apply marking using brush, roller or spray paints equipment. Mixes colors, paints and thinner to meet required color and consistency thus assuring suitable finish. Paints or repaints shipping boxes as required. Performs minor care of material in storage functions such as unpacking, removing rust and corrosion from items, repainting, obliterating old markings, restencilling, repacking, etc. - Destroys ammunition and explosives by detonation or burning. Closes roads and isolates areas. Packs and loads unserviceable or deteriorated items to trucks and unloads at the demolition area. Assists in the assembly and/or laying out of items for burning, to include the arrangement for and feeding of small arms ammunition to the deactivation furnace. Adds combustible material in preparation for burning. Packs initiating explosives in and around material to be blown. Distributes items to blasting pits or burning ovens and inserts powder and safety fuses following detailed instructions. Covers primed pits with earth as required. After destruction verifies areas for undestroyed items and examines explosive contaminated items. Loads burnt material into trucks for removal to salvage. Cleans areas in preparation for future burning or detonations. - Accomplishes a variety of tasks in the receipt, storage, classification, care and issuance of all types of conventional ammunition. Regularly operates all types of material handling equipment such as electric, gasoline, or diesel powered fork lift trucks with a lifting capacity of less than 10000 pounds, stock selector trucks, warehouse tractors with trailers, side shifters, etc. for which licensed to include the performance of operator maintenance. Performs receiving, sorting and shipping duties substantially involving comparing information on document with that received or in stock, signing documents for items received, selecting and assembling items for shipment, transferring stocks to specifically prescribed warehouse or storage locations, loading designated carriers, assuring items are accurately marked, tagged, labeled and placed in properly marked containers, tallying our shipments, unloading carriers, and checking for evidence of damaged supplies or broken containers. - Performs manual labor tasks incidental to warehouse activities, such as moving, packing, unpacking, sorting, segregating, restocking, palletizing and checking bags or bins for signs of deterioration or incorrect location of items and the like. May perform to a limited degree and when need arises inventory related functions such as counting items stored at different locations and comparing nomenclature with source documentation. Posts data on magazine data card and compiles supply summary sheets to facilitate identification of items and to expedite the movement process. - Performs physical handling tasks such as loading and unloading into or from rail cars and/or trucks, stacking and palletizing, blocking and bracing of items/pallets, inserting damage into stacks, etc. in connection with the receipt, shipment, transfer, rewarehousing, etc. of all types of conventional ammunition and explosives and their components. Uses different tools and equipment such as roller conveyors, banding machines and hand tools to include chain saws and automatic nailing machines. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifikationsanforderungen A4-6502-03: No specific education required. Applicant must be able to perform the duties of the position after technical on-the-job training.
