A Science Manager position is available in the Division of Precision Physics (Scientific Director: Nathalie Picqué) at the Max Born Institute in Berlin, Germany. We are looking for someone who will assist in implementing the director's scientific vision and division strategy. We invite applications for the position of Science Manager (m/f/d) Job profile: The Project Manager will Work closely with the Scientific Director and the Direction Team to assist in the general management of the Division and other management tasks. Assist the Scientific Director with management and reporting, budget management, procurement, publications and teaching and dissemination activities. Prepare reports, letters and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including evaluation and annual reports. Assist with research project documentation and compliance with institutional and funding guidelines. Oversee science communication, including public outreach and event planning. Develop and implement social media strategy. Create and update website content. Represent the Director in internal and external communications related to the management and presentation of the Division. Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of research staff. Facilitate professional development opportunities for junior researchers within the Division. Participate in the organisation of activities and initiatives within the Division. Act as a point of contact for research related administrative issues. Requirements: You have completed a doctoral degree, preferably in Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics or related disciplines or you have extensive previous experience in science management. You are excited about science in general and interested in working at the interface between research and administration. Some experience, demonstrated interest and/or talent in organisational and management roles, preferably in an academic context, is an advantage. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and German. The working language will be English. Experience in writing and editing reports and documents in the areas of research project management, research evaluation and/or science communication is a plus. You have excellent interpersonal skills and are a team player. You have a flexible and proactive approach to work, including the ability to set and change priorities. You have a high level of integrity and are able to handle sensitive and confidential information. You are highly reliable and have good time management skills. You are service oriented, interested in learning new tasks, able to manage projects in a multi-tasking manner, handle multiple requests and meet deadlines. You will have excellent computer skills, including a working knowledge of writing, presentation and illustration softwares (preferably Word, Excel, Keynote, Adobe).
