As the Head of Development Department HW&FW (m/f/d), you'll drive engineering efforts in hardware (HW) and firmware (FW) development for industrial PCs, controllers, edge software and customer-specific product adaptations. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
* Strategic Leadership: Define and implement technology and product development strategies for hardware, firmware, and customized solutions aligned with business objectives and market trends.
* Project Oversight: Manage development projects with the product management office from initial concept to production, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and alignment with customer requirements.
* Team and Technological Advancement: Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians locally and globally; foster innovation, implement innovative methodologies, and ensure continuous knowledge growth.
* Customer-Centric and Technological Innovation: Understand customer needs and deliver tailored product solutions; monitor emerging trends and integrate advanced technologies into product designs to enhance competitiveness.
* Collaboration: Work closely with product management, manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, and internal/external partners to ensure seamless product development and implementation.
* Compliance and Standards: Ensure all products and processes adhere to relevant industry standards and regulations.
* Budget and Resource Management: Plan and oversee department budgets, resource allocation, and cost control.

For This Role, You Will Need:
* Technical degree (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics) or equivalent experience.
* HW and FW development experience (industrial PCs, controllers, edge computing).
* Proven leadership of multi-functional engineering teams.
* Knowledge of real-time operating systems, communication protocols (OPC UA, EtherCAT), hardware design (electronic, mechanic, thermal).
* Fluent in English and German.
* Willing to travel up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
* Experience in a complex Matrix organization.
* Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) and agile development methodologies.
