About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Regional Market Access Manager to lead the development and execution of market access strategies for our pharmaceutical products, especially Biosimilars within Germany. This position requires a deep understanding of the German healthcare system, pricing and reimbursement processes, and regional healthcare policy landscapes. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including Commercial, Medical, and Regulatory teams, to ensure timely Market Access and optimal product launch success.
What You’ll Do:
1. Market Access Strategy Development:
o Develop and implement market access strategies for pharmaceutical products, especially Biosimilars within the German market.
o Lead pricing and reimbursement negotiations on a regional level with relevant payers, e.g. health insurance providers or hospitals, as well as dialogues with regional Market Access stakeholders like physician or pharmacy associations.
o Monitor changes in healthcare policies and reimbursement frameworks to ensure timely market access for products.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, including payers, healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and patient advocacy groups in defined region.
o Collaborate with local government bodies and health insurance companies to ensure products meet reimbursement criteria.
3. Pricing and Reimbursement:
o Manage and execute pricing strategies, ensuring alignment with local and regional business objectives while maximizing reimbursement outcomes.
4. Market Access Intelligence:
o Continuously monitor and analyse the German healthcare system, identifying opportunities and risks in market access, pricing, and reimbursement.
o Conduct competitive analysis and track reimbursement trends to inform pricing strategies and product positioning.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration:
o Work closely with DACH Commercial, Medical, Regulatory, and Sales teams to ensure alignment of market access strategies with business goals.
o Provide strategic input to the commercial teams to ensure a successful launch of products, leveraging market access insights.
6. Policy Advocacy:
o Represent the organization in all relevant regional events & meetings, like e.g. industry forums, ad-boards, round-tables and collaborate on policy advocacy to support the overall market access strategy.
o Advocate for the value of the company’s products to stakeholders, including payers, healthcare professionals, and patients.
7. Reporting & Analytics:
o Prepare and present regular updates on regional market access performance, pricing trends, and reimbursement status to senior leadership.
o Provide insights on potential barriers and propose solutions for successful product market entry.
About You
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful difference to patients’ lives.
Qualifications:
* Degree in life sciences, economics, or business with an advanced degree in one of these fields.
Experience & Competences:
* At least 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or device industry in a similar position.
* Significant experience and understanding of the healthcare system, pricing, access and reimbursement processes of the assigned country is required.
* Experience launching products in the retail & hospital-based setting would be ideal.
* Strong understanding of healthcare funding and decision-making at national, regional and local level of the assigned country.
* Experience in engagement & existing network with relevant Market Access stakeholders.
* Clear understanding of how to best put patients’ needs first while also achieving commercial and business objectives.
* Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix organisation.
Knowledge & Skills:
* Demonstrated knowledge of pricing trends, tactics and payer dynamics.
* Demonstrated success in managing multiple activities (both “self” and through delegation) and working in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong leadership and influencing skill.
* Ability to drive progress through both personal engagement and by influencing others across the organization.
* Ability to effectively manage very senior level relationships, internally and externally.
* Exceptional written and oral communication, and organizational skills.
* Strong collaborative negotiation and strategic skills.
Personal Qualities:
* Detail oriented while maintaining a balance with the big picture perspective.
* Ability and willingness to be both a strategic leader and be “hands on.”
* Experience developing and leading education programs for customer-facing teams.
