1. POSITION SUMMARY
Provide clinical support for new tender & business opportunities in order to accelerate the growth of new business and deliver clinical in-service to current customers to maintain and expand existing business.
Scope - To further strengthen the Owens & Minor Halyard commercial team, we are looking for a clinical product specialist with a strong clinical background in the operating room and a commercial attitude.

This job is field based, it requires significant travelling to the assigned hospitals in this area. This person will work closely together with the account management team, manufacturing plant, tender, supply chain and customer service teams.
2. JOB FUNCTIONS
* Coordinate and implement clinical evaluations for surgical, CPT and sterilisation in close collaboration with the responsible account manager to support new business conversions.
* Develop the clinical content for custom procedural trays (CPT) for new business opportunities as well as manage the update of the content of existing CPT’s if changes are required. Cooperate with the selected external tray builders to ensure that trays of best value are being created.
* Update content of existing CPT’s to help in-service existing A and B customers. Ensure that during quarterly review meetings customer feedback on HYH products is being captured and acted upon as well as ensuring that improvements/changes to the HYH portfolio are being communicated pro-actively.
* Cooperate with CPT tray builders to address and solve issues with HYH or 3rd party components and validate and communicate these solutions to customers
* Train new customers on the adequate usage of our products to help accelerate new business implementations.
* Set up clinical workshops/lessons to educate customers about clinical issues and best practice in relation to the HYH products to help increase customer loyalty
* Perform ORUR (Operating Room Utilisation Review) and SPUR (sterilisation packaging utilisation review) to help customers identify savings and improve efficiency in the OR and CSSD to increase the competitiveness of the HYH offering.
* Gather competitive information and provide insight on new clinical trends to the sales and marketing team
* Exchange best practices with Clinical Product Specialists in other regions in EMEA
* Support the tender team in quoting for large CPT tenders with clinical questions
3. KEY RELATIONSHIPS
* Work in close collaboration with the account management team to lead clinical evaluations for surgical, CPT and sterilization within the assigned hospitals
* Train and educate customers on the adequate usage of our products to help accelerate new business implementations and create customer preference for the Halyard products and services
* Work with the CPT manufacturing plant on CPT changes and improvements
* Regular interaction with the internal office departments, pricing & tender team, customer service, RA/QA and supply chain to drive a high customer satisfaction
* Regular interaction and involvement in technical committees for category and product specifications and national standards
* Organise and book congresses in collaboration with sales team
* Organise Continued Medical Education days in collaboration with sales team.
* Place adverts in relevant medical journals
4. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* At least 5 years working experience as Operating Room Nurse or equivalent
* Knowledge and experience in Operating room techniques, practices and management at both staff and supervisory level
* Working knowledge of Central Sterilization Services Departments
* Experience in Infection control is an asset
* Experience in a clinical specialist role is an asset
