Current INTERNAL Local National Employees throughout Germany. This covers all current Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe within Germany

EXTERNAL Local National Applicants, who reside in Germany.
Hauptaufgaben
Performs duties concerned with the preparation of maintenance plans and schedules, specifications, and engineering estimates covering exterior and interior mechanical systems and interior sanitary systems, such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water distribution, sanitation systems, refrigeration, fire extinguishing systems, automatic doors and gates, elevators, cranes, storage tanks and similar systems.
Projects include major repairs, maintenance, rehabilitation, and alteration to existing structures of government facilities, office buildings, living quarters, family housings, utility plants, shops, motor pools, gas stations, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.

E&T Levels I thru IV: not creditable for positions in this occupational series.
E&T Level V: Applicants for positions in this series are required to be graduates from a Fachhochschule, a Berufsakademie, or a Technische Hochschule as an Engineer in the discipline specifically required for the position. Graduates must be fully recognized by German authorities to practice the engineering profession in Germany. Applicants from foreign countries must obtain an equivalent certification from pertinent German authorities that certifies recognition to practice the engineering profession in the area of specialization of the position.
Office Automation skills are required.
Drivers License class B required.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
English Language Proficiency Level B2 AND German Language Proficiency Level C1 required. You may test yourself for free at one of the various online providers, who offer tests under the 'Common European Framework of Reference for Languages' (CEFR).

Designated duty station is at present Vilseck.
The future incumbent may be reassigned to another duty station within the same works council agency and commuting area (within the meaning of the legal ordinance on moving expense in its current version) of his/her present duty station.
NOTE FOR EXTERNAL APPLICANTS:
Police Good Conduct Certificate (Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis). On initial appointment, or re-appointment after a break in service, candidates who have been selected for a position must present a police good-conduct certificate prior to appointment to the position. The applicant must obtain the certificate from the local resident registration office. The cost for the certificate is not reimbursable. Non-US citizen family members, except German citizens are exempt from this requirement.
ATTENTION: Upon appointment with the US Forces it is required to present two valid Picture IDs to get access to the Computer Systems. Recognized documents are only: „Personalausweis" "Personal ID", „Reisepass" "Personal Travel ID" and the EU Driver's License "plastic card format". We recommend to assure at the time of application that at least two of these documents are available or requested.
Foreign National Screening (Sicherheitsüberprüfung): In accordance with USAREUR Regulation 604-1, within 3 days after appointment, a background check will be initiated to determine suitability for continued employment with the U. S. Forces in Germany. If results are unacceptable, employment will be terminated during the probationary period, or any time thereafter if the background checks reveal that the employee constitutes a security risk.
