Data Operations Manager (m/f/d)
About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be the linchpin between our data initiatives, client expectations, and strategic goals. You'll oversee project definition and documentation, ensure effective execution of agreed-upon missions, coordinate with partnering service companies, and serve as the primary interface for project management topics with our clients. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving synergies across our digital and data teams while delivering exceptional results.
Your tasks:
Project Definition and Planning
* Lead the development of comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets
* Create detailed project documentation, ensuring clarity on objectives, deliverables, and success metrics
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align data projects with overall business strategies and client goals
Project Execution and Delivery
* Manage end-to-end data projects, overseeing all phases from initiation to closure
* Implement and maintain project management best practices, methodologies, and tools to ensure efficient execution
* Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or bottlenecks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
Team Coordination and Collaboration
* Coordinate cross-functional teams, fostering seamless collaboration between data scientists, analysts, strategists, and other relevant departments
* Facilitate effective communication and data flow between all project stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables
* Build and maintain strong relationships with partnering service companies, managing their contributions to project success
Client Interface and Relationship Management
* Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on project management topics, maintaining clear and consistent communication
* Manage client expectations, provide regular project updates, and address any concerns or issues in a timely manner
* Present project progress, results, and recommendations to clients, showcasing the value of our data-driven approach
Performance Monitoring and Optimization
* Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and team productivity
* Continuously monitor project performance, making data-driven adjustments as needed to meet or exceed both client and internal expectations
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains across data operations
Strategic Integration and Synergy Creation
* Work closely with digital and data teams to identify and leverage synergies across various projects and initiatives
* Ensure that data project outcomes contribute to broader organizational goals and client strategies
* Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across teams to enhance overall data operations capabilities
Your profile:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
* 7+ years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on data-driven initiatives
* Proven track record of successfully managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent understanding of data processes, analytics, and their application in marketing and advertising
* Strong proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, PMI)
* Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
* Experience in advertising, media, or marketing agency environments
* Familiarity with adtech and martech ecosystems
* Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
* Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Prince2) or relevant data technologies
* Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
