The Trade Compliance Manager will lead a small team and operate as a Subject Matter Expert, providing guidance for the business and answering questions. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Trade Compliance department, ensuring technical and personnel excellence Serve as the company's Export Control Officer, taking personal responsibility for compliance Handle applications for export licenses (dual use) and provide information on the goods list Ensure adherence to German export control laws and the PIC Agreement (Rotterdam Agreement) Oversee compliance with US export control laws and monitor EU and US sanctions and embargoes Maintain up-to-date customs authorizations (authorized exporter, approved exporter, deferred payment, and AEO-F) Act as the main point of contact for the customs office during foreign trade and import audits Process and review import declarations, including tax assessments Possess in-depth knowledge of customs tariffs for goods classification and VAT assessment within the EU Perform specific origin calculations for large projects Develop work instructions for the Trade Compliance area Utilize key performance indicators (daily management) to maintain and improve Trade Compliance processes Foster employee engagement and development through regular P4G discussions Conduct internal employee training on customs-related export control topics (AEO relevant) Hach has a continuous improvement-focused culture and offers a highly stimulating engineering environment with excellent career development and growth opportunities.
