Purpose
As a Business Development Manager you support the execution of the adidas Group Global Sales organisation’s strategy and principles by managing key sales initiatives as well as cross-functional projects; and by being an active team member in cross-functional teams.
You also provide support for Executive Board Member responsible for Global Sales
Key Accountabilities
* (Project) Coordinate collaborative global projects, process improvements, new tools’ implementation and best-practice sharing that are in alignment with the strategies and priorities of the adidas Group’s Global Sales organisation.
* (Project Management) Practice standard project management approach and effective communication methodology
* (Communication) Update the management team regarding status and implications of individual projects in a consistent and effective manner
* (Network) Build a network acting as a focal point for local markets, global functions and other key support functions to ensure identification of relevant projects
* (Top Management Support) Provide support for the Executive Board Member responsible for Global Sales
* (Team) Act as team player and collaborate with other team members
Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities
* Good interpersonal skills (e.g. communication, negotiation)
* Good methodological skills (e.g. business planning, strategic development)
* Good functional skills (e.g. Operations, Customer Service, Finance, IT)
* Good level of commercial awareness and business acumen
* Adequate knowledge of the adidas Group business along with significant industry experience
* Mental flexibility, initiative, determination and results orientation
* Fluency in written and spoken English is a must. Skills and abilities in another language are a benefit
Qualifications
1. Degree in business ideally with focus on Sales/Marketing/Finance
2. Business: minimum 3-5 years
3. Functional: minimum 2-3 years in the sporting goods or comparable industry
4. Leadership: first experience of project lead responsibility
5. Cross-functional experience ideally with sales / marketing / finance / operations
6. Industry: sporting goods / retail / consumer goods / consulting
