Your role
1. Support acquisition of industry sponsorship of EMBL’s courses and conferences
2. Support the onsite liaison with exhibitors and sponsors for events at EMBL’s Advanced Training Centre by arranging exhibition stands, workshops and other sponsor activities
3. Work with customer relationship management databases and other events software to manage sponsorship and exhibition bookings, invoicing and attendee registrations.
4. Maintain sponsors’ / partners’ acknowledgement on event websites and platforms, in print and other digital and physical display channels.
5. Building and maintaining good relationships with internal and external partners, scientific organisers and industry customers.
6. Ad-hoc tasks as required in the role

You have
Your academic studies and/or your prior experiences will have prepared you to take on this role supporting the sponsorship element of EMBL's busy programme. The CCO needs enthusiastic team players with impressive abilities to self-organise and prioritise so that they can support multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Strong administrative, coordination and customer service skills underpin your ability to communicate with and gain the confidence of our scientists, industry partner companies and fellow service providers at EMBL.
13. 12 months experience in a professional environment
14. Excellent written and spoken English; German language skills are an advantage
15. Adept communicator and relationship builder
16. Experience with the Microsoft Office and Google Suite software packages.
17. Willingness to learn new software packages such as databases and CRM systems
18. Good level of numeracy, comfortable with figures and calculations
You might also have
19. Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software
20. Able to work flexible hours
