Preferred Qualifications and Skills Our client is looking for a Sales Manager with a proven track record (minimum 2 years experience) in a similar role with strong domestic/local networking, interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation. The key responsibilities will be to: Develop and maintain strong business relationships with the local market, Groups corporate and M&I Travel Agencies and Domestic Networking Industry clients. To research new market opportunities and develop strategies to penetrate companies/organizations likely to produce business for the hotel. To invite potential clients to tour the property and conduct individual tours, highlighting the facilities and services. Set key performance indicators, monitor and coach performance accordingly. As a Sales Representative you will: Conduct customer sales calls, presentations and ongoing account assessments to maximize revenue potential and harness key account relationships. Maintain, prospect, independently solicit all ‘group & event’ related business booked direct with the hotel or through 3rd party agents for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events. Exceed pre-determined room night and revenue goals as outlined by the Director of Sales. Solicit all MICE business through the preparation, execution and completion of Action Plans. Compile and analyze weekly and month end reports, review and implement action plans to address market share penetration. Within established parameters, quote and negotiate rates with customers, handle and follow up on RFP’s, Inquiries, Proposals and Contracts within the company guidelines. Conduct site inspections, facilitate FAM trips, plan and execute sales trips and assume the responsibility as the direct sales contact within your market. Complete a pre-determined number of new key prospecting calls and telephone call per week, while maintaining and improving our customer database. Maintain a strong liaison between Sales and Operations to ensure all events, VIP’s and preferred accounts are managed accordingly. As directed, compile and input market intelligence information to our internal system. Provides feedback to the Director of Sales on changing conditions, including trends in the competition, as a result of direct solicitation, telephone and direct mail, in their market areas.
