Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily.
1. Oversees and or conducts inspections on different classifications of track vehicles/equipment at the unit level.
2. The individual will ensure all Amentum and APS-2 established standards for quality, health, safety, legal, business, ethical or other standards are adhered to at all times.
3. The individual must have demonstrated experience performing APS quality inspections and be prepared to issue Quality Discrepancy Reports (QDRs) and answer Government Non-Compliance Reports (NCRs) related to their inspections.
4. The individual will investigate complaints and violations, prepare reports of findings and action taken or recommended, file charges and testify in court, recommend changes in standards, administrative procedures, facilities, methods, and practices.
5. The individual must be familiar with the licenses and certifications required to operate and maintain Army track vehicles in order to enforce these requirements.
6. Oversees and or conducts initial inspections upon delivery of equipment and records data information for the processing of maintenance work orders, troubleshoots identified faults and in-process inspections as required during the repair phase. Conducts a final inspection upon completion of maintenance repairs to ensure quality product outputs are met.
7. Prepares records of inspection/tests and make them available to the QA/QC Department.
8. Verifies procedures being used are adequate for the effective control of quality, rejects defective workmanship and materials, verifies and certifies the test results on supporting documents.
9. Provides guidance and technical assistance to shop maintenance personnel on inspection principles of workmanship, procedures to be employed, and quality of work expected.
10. Ensures compliance with government and corporate regulations, company SOPs, directives, and technical manuals to establish and maintain a quality management program.
11. Maintains crosstalk with QA and LAR representatives.
12. Coordinates with Shop Supervisor when technical problems arise and in-depth mechanical knowledge is required.
13. Cross trains when required to ensure maximum flexibility and possession of technical skills in the development and maintenance of quality programs.
14. Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.
15. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the Amentum Quality Management System.
16. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on various pieces of wheeled vehicles/equipment, both tactical and non-tactical
17. Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.
18. Maintain a daily timesheet and daily manning report and ensuring times are accurate.
Qualification & Experience Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
19. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
20. A minimum of five (5) years actual and recent experience inspecting or performing maintenance on the following track vehicles: M2A3, M3A3, M1A2, M109, M113, M577, M1068, M1064, M992, and M88A2.
21. Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of general quality inspection procedures, maintenance forms, records, reporting system, and management thereof.
22. Must have knowledge of the scopes and limitations of various categories of maintenance and their applications to the contract unit.
23. Must be capable of reading, interpreting and using complex blueprints, schematic diagrams, and data tables.
24. Must be able to perform complete technical inspection of contract units and be able to determine that completed repairs comply with standards described in applicable publications.
25. Must be able to instruct and demonstrate correct maintenance techniques and procedures.
26. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
27. Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
28. Must be able to meet and maintain all Logistics Information System (LIS) access requirements (Common Access Card).
29. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
30. Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.
Specialized knowledge and skills
31. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
32. Must have knowledge of diagnostics tools and forms used at the unit level.
33. Must be able to read vehicle/equipment schematics.
34. Must have the ability to analyze and interpret Army Technical Manuals with relation to track maintenance and repair.
35. Valid US driver’s license is required.
36. Army 91H or equivalent military experience preferred.
37. Full or partial Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or European equivalent preferred.
