Winter Semester 2025/26 - limited to 3-6 months
We describe and model production areas and their properties in the form of a generic, digital data model. Such a model can be used to generate a complete material flow simulation at the touch of a button, for example. However, collecting the data is currently time-consuming and requires detailed knowledge of the model in addition to knowledge of the production area. We are currently conducting interviews with users in order to determine the data and transfer it into a model. As part of this thesis, you will evaluate whether and how such interviews can be conducted by a chatbot. The chatbot should ask for all necessary data in dialog and thus support the mapping and modeling. The result is the data-based description of a production area in the form of the existing model.
YOUR TASKS:
* Familiarize yourself with the existing data model and the current approach to data collection.
* Research the current state of the art in the field of chatbots and AI-based dialogue systems.
* Evaluate different approaches and ideas for implementing the chatbot.
* Implement a chatbot that collects the necessary data and transfers it into the model.
* Evaluate the performance of the chatbot in specific use cases and identify potential areas for improvement.
YOUR PROFILE:
* You are studying Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence.
* Experience with chatbots and AI-based systems is a plus.
* You have an interest in production, logistics, and optimizing them through AI.
* You work independently, creatively, and solution oriented.
