The Opportunity
This position works out of our Wiesbaden location in the Abbott Diabetes Care - Abbott GmbH. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.
This position provides financial leadership support and counsel for all financial systems (e.g. Dodeca, SAP, etc) and to serve as the key coordination manager to ensure that all operational systems, including those of 3rd party suppliers, meet financial reporting requirements for business and for compliance purposes. Additionally, the position provides leadership and counsel to the EMEA Area Commercial Operations team, and Country Controllers for Balance Sheet, Capital, Cash Flow, Audit & Compliance and for all project reporting and analysis for EMEA. The role serves as a leader of the financial planning process for the above areas of responsibility by proving priorities for the organization and ensuring the timeliness, high quality, accuracy, and integrity of all financial information while also performing ad hoc requirements from the Area Controller.
Your Tasks:
1. Be the key subject matter expert and the coordination manager for all financial systems utilized by ADC Finance, ensuring that our internal (e.g. EFS, or BTS) and external (e.g. Arvato) service providers meet the business operational analysis and reporting needs of ADC EMEA
2. Coordination Lead for ADC EMEA Finance for ERP and other system implementations (e.g. Catapult) including the management of external service providers supporting ADC during the project. Actively lead the harmonization and standardization of processes & tools used across ADC EMEA, leveraging system capabilities
3. Lead and coordinate the forecasting processes for Balance Sheet, Capital projects and Cash Flow by setting processes and establishing priorities in the organization and ensuring the timeliness, quality, and accuracy of information reported
4. Manage and take the lead on the annual Purchase Order approval process for EMEA ensuring that all POs are approved in a timely manner before each fiscal year. Coordinate and drive the management of key external service providers (e.g. e-Zest, Cognizant, IBM) in terms of cost / benefit, across all EMEA ADC (with focus on Germany based functions)
5. Manage and take the lead on all EMEA Capital Project Forecasting, management, reporting, and partnering with EMEA ComOps PMO
6. Coordinate with the Demand Planning team to ensure that inventory levels are accurately forecasted and DOH levels optimized. Additionally, distressed inventory and EOL inventory write-offs are minimized
7. Provide general accounting guidance and support for EMEA Area HQ and affiliates on balance sheet, capital, RCE and project accounting processes (e.g. WBS set-up in SAP)
8. Continually focus on working to improve the Cash Conversion Cycle through process improvements and analytical tool developments to support the country controllers and key stake holders for DSO and DPO metrics
9. Support Regional and Country Controllers with forecasting tools, best practice sharing on financial systems and consulting on Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Capital Projects
Your Qualification:
10. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting or related discipline, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA membership
11. A minimum of 7 years of progressive finance/accounting/Audit experience
12. Understanding of the Divisional financial process
13. Ability to interact with all levels of management
14. Prior Leadership experience
15. Must have excellent system skills, aptitude and experience, especially with Dodeca (i.e. multi-dimensional planning and reporting system), Power BI, SAP, HFM and Excel
16. Fluent in English - fluency in a second language a plus
