What's this role about?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our successful global Telco team. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of excellence and overachievement in driving profitable growth and transformation within the Telecoms IT Services market.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Focusing on closing ‘Big Ticket’ deals.
2. Specialties: Telecommunication including Tier 1 mobile operators.
3. Prospecting, cold calling, qualifying leads, conducting sales presentations, negotiating, and closing contracts.
4. Motivating and driving individuals and teams to consistently overachieve and grow.
5. Identifying and acquiring new clients and projects in the sector.
6. Managing end-to-end sales processes from acquisition to completion.
7. Maintaining and leveraging your existing network.
8. Leading individual bids and participating in contract negotiations.
9. Coordinating support and other teams, including those abroad.
10. Using marketing tools to secure new orders.
11. Participating in and managing external events.
What skills and experience do you need?
12. 8+ years of professional sales experience at a senior level.
13. Proven record of exceeding sales/revenue targets, resulting in consistent above-target performance.
14. Experience in selling offshore or nearshore IT services.
15. Recent experience working with, selling to, or for large Telecom companies. In particular, you must have an established network of contacts or experience within Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone Germany, 1&1, or LANCOM.
16. Strong background in mobile network operators and mobile virtual network operators.
17. Knowledge in Cloud, 5G, IoT, Embedded Software, Dev, and Test.
18. Self-starter with a structured work ethic.
19. Results-oriented and commercially focused.
20. Multi-year experience in technical sales with a thorough understanding of IT services.
21. Fluent communication skills in both German and English.
22. Systematic approach to problem-solving.
23. Ability to plan, schedule, and monitor own work within deadlines.
24. Awareness of developing technologies and a commitment to personal development.
25. * Experience in preparing and presenting proposals, business cases, and statements of work.
