Job Description
The Senior Catalog Data Acquisition Specialist is responsible for streamlining and enhancing catalog data acquisition processes to ensure timely and accurate product listings. This role focuses on optimizing workflows, reducing time-to-market, and minimizing manual effort in data collection. As a senior specialist, you will lead initiatives to improve efficiency, collaborate with key stakeholders, and implement best practices for data management including integration of new data acquisition methods to ensure the product catalog is efficiently filled with accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.
Key Responsibilities:
* Data Acquisition
Use diversified methods such as API integrations, web scraping, manual data entry, vendor data imports, etc. to collect comprehensive product data for the e-commerce catalog.
* Process Optimization
Identify bottlenecks in the current data collection and processing workflows, and implement solutions to optimize performance, reduce listing times, and shorten time-to-market.
Data Integration & Processing
* Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to integrate new data sources, ensuring data flows smoothly into consuming systems.
* Vendor Coordination
Communicate with suppliers and vendors to obtain accurate, rich and up-to-date product information, specifications, and images; manage data feeds from external partners.
* Catalog Maintenance
Regularly update and maintain the product catalog, ensuring that new products are added, discontinued products are removed, and all product details remain up to date.
* Data Validation & Quality Control
Ensure all collected product data is accurate, consistent, and complete; perform quality checks to detect and correct errors or inconsistencies in the product catalog.
* Reporting
Generate periodic reports on catalog data acquisition progress, data quality metrics, and coverage of product data across categories.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in data management, information systems, business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
* 5+ years of experience in catalog data acquisition, data management, or a related role, with at least 2 years in an e-commerce environment.
* Proven track record of optimizing data acquisition processes to reduce listing times and improve operational efficiency.
* Strong oral and written communication skills in English, ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and ensure alignment
* Team player with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others
* Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
* Ability to unlock complex issues and to work proactively on proposals, solution-oriented approach
* Highly motivated, agile, project-oriented mindset
