In this position, you will manage European legal issues and primarily act as a legal advisor relating to contract management, compliance matters, and dispute resolution. Your responsibilities in detail: * Act as main legal contact for different business functions (Procurement, Sales, Finance, Sustainability) and Novelis operative plants in Switzerland, Germany, UK and Italy by providing concise, sound but also practical (“hands-on”) legal and contractual advise; consulting on legal issues and implications of business initiative * Drive compliance by monitoring legal and regulatory developments in Europe and support implementing appropriate legal actions to mitigate compliance risks and regulations; work closely with the corporate compliance team on business and regulatory compliance matters * Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of agreements (Procurement, Supply and Services Agreements, T&Cs, NDAs, Cooperation Agreements, etc.) and other legal documents (policies, legal directives, etc.) * Conduct internal trainings with respect to legal, regulatory and contractual aspects * Regular involvement in cross-border and international matters * External counsel and litigation management How you convince us: * You have a law degree (MLaw or similar) and are admitted to the bar in Switzerland or Germany (or a comparable jurisdiction) * Some post-qualification work experience, preferably within a law firm and/or as in-house counsel, is preferred * Expertise in commercial law topics such as procurement, sales, competition law and corporate law * Expertise or strong interest in compliance matters (regulatory compliance and business compliance) and sustainability related matters * You are highly motivated with the ability to work independently as well as working within a team * Strong communication and negotiation skills, along with the capacity to lead negotiations * You have the ability to handle competing tasks and priorities, and to be resourceful and composed under pressure * Motivated to work in a diverse and international setting, readiness to travel occasionally (Switzerland, Germany, Italy, UK) * Verbal and written fluency required in English and German complete your profile – knowledge of French is a plus What Novelis offers you: * An international working environment with a communicative culture and opportunities to take additional responsibilities within your career at Novelis * Your position will be based in our European headquarters in Küsnacht, with strong links to our operations in the different countries * We are offering an unlimited working contract with an additional bonus program * Flexible working hours and the possibility for remote working * A competitive company pension scheme and a variety of other benefits * The opportunity to shape a sustainable world together Have we caught your interest?
