We are looking for a Legal Lead Clinical Development who is detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative to join us in our Legal team, based in our [insert the name of the office location] office in [city], [country].
About the role
You will be working in a team that supports UCB’s global clinical operations. The Legal Lead Clinical Development will take ownership of legal matters, providing legal support and guidance to our study teams and clinical contract management teams to facilitate the smooth execution of our clinical studies and related activities.
Who you’ll work with
You will be part of a dynamic and supportive legal team, reporting directly to the Head of Legal Clinical Development. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including study teams and clinical contract management teams, as well as external partners such as study sites, investigators, and other service providers.
What you’ll do
* Provide high-quality legal support on all aspects of global clinical operations.
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts related to clinical studies.
* Offer general legal advice on issues related to clinical development.
* Stay updated with laws and regulations impacting clinical operations and train internal stakeholders.
* Assist in managing disputes and litigation related to clinical operations.
* Contribute to wider organizational goals and activities related to clinical development.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills:
* Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the bio/pharma industry or a recognized law firm.
* Strong background in contract law and data protection regulations.
* Advanced skills in legal drafting and negotiating in an international environment.
* Strong business acumen and ability to balance risk and opportunity.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Fluent in English; additional languages (e.g., German, French, or Spanish) are a plus.
