About the Role:
* Developing products and applications for oil & gas, aligning with business objectives.
* Managing interfaces with value chain partners, relevant certification bodies, and standard groups.
* Ensuring technical leadership and promoting the company's reputation within the application (supported by marketing communications).
* Deep understanding of the value chain, including upcoming projects and coordinating various applications and suppliers. Sharing insights with the sales teams globally.
* Leading product qualifications, ensuring compliance with required certifications before commercial launch. Supporting sales teams during the launch and throughout the product's commercial lifetime.
* Identifying market opportunities for innovative, market-driven solutions.
* Building relationships not only with customers but also with engineering companies, value chain partners, and end users (including major global oil companies) to influence purchasing decisions and strengthen our market position.
* Collaborating cross-functionally with sales, R&D, and operations to define product scope, identify unique selling points, and drive technical discussions.
* Working closely with operations to understand production processes and capabilities, review technical specifications, assessing feasibility, and facilitating discussions between our operations, sales and customers to define best possible solutions.
* Maintain outreach to internal and external stakeholders though meetings, visits, and trade shows, including frequent international travel.
About You:
* Master’s degree in material science or engineering and minimum five years relevant experience in the industry.
* High degree of technical competence in product and application development, with proven experience in managing and delivering successful projects.
* Deep understanding of stainless steels and other corrosion-resistant alloy tubular applications.
* Fluency in English. Proficiency in Spanish, French, Portuguese, Chinese or German – an advantage.
* Innovative thinker with a proven track record of generating new ideas and contributing to the development of industry-leading solutions.
* Skilled at identifying customer and value chain partner issues, finding creative solutions, and driving business growth.
* Strong market awareness, with a deep understanding of main stainless steel and nickel alloy competitors’ strategies, identifying areas where we can excel or strategies to close competitive gaps.
* Clear communicator with strong networking skills, capable of interacting effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Active participation in technical forums such as conferences, seminars, and publishing articles to promote technical expertise and company innovations.
* Maintain outreach to internal and external stakeholders though meetings, visits, and trade shows, including frequent international travel.

Location:
Flexible – preferably based at or near the main Outokumpu centers in the Düsseldorf region (Germany), the Avesta region (Sweden), or at any of our other locations in Europe or worldwide.
