Job mission: The Senior PR Manager will focus on both Corporate and Product communications, with a deep understanding of the EU automotive industry and a keen eye for compelling storytelling opportunities. Responsible for developing strategic PR plans and leading a team, the Senior PR Manager will drive the creation of original stories while aligning with Global PR and the wider group. Collaboration with internal departments, including Kia PBV, Kia Connect, and MECA, will be key. Additionally, they will build and maintain relationships with PR teams across Europe, external suppliers, and agencies, ultimately enhancing media output, journalist engagement, and influencer relationships. Your responsibilities: Ambassador for the PRIDE attitude: 'PRIDE Passion, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, and Execution' Support the development and execution of the PR strategy and masterplan in collaboration with the GM of PR & Events. Manage agency relationships, creating messaging, briefings, and pitches to promote key PR initiatives and ensure consistent media coverage across targeted audiences and platforms. Lead the strategic planning and execution of press activations across both digital and physical platforms, maximizing coverage opportunities. Oversee the creation of media materials, including press releases, visual assets, and product specifications, ensuring content on Kia’s press website is up-to-date and accurate. Assist with proactive and reactive communication of Kia product and technical information. Collaborate with the Events Manager to plan and execute press drive events and product experiences, ensuring seamless logistics and brand-aligned experiences. Identify and propose Corporate PR event opportunities, working with external platforms and relevant teams to optimize presence and impact. Maintain close liaison with Kia Global PR and local HMG entities, attending meetings with country PR managers and agencies. Manage Kia’s participation in European awards, supporting reporting and amplification opportunities in collaboration with Marketing colleagues. Oversee the day-to-day management of PR projects, ensuring the smooth execution of the pan-European PR calendar. Manage issue and crisis communications, ensuring timely and effective responses to reactive statements. Stay informed on media trends and best practices, sharing insights and leading by example. Report on PR activities, tracking progress against key metrics and preparing actionable reports. Plan, forecast, and manage the PR budget, providing regular updates to stakeholders. Oversee the proactive use of media monitoring services and the distribution of reports, setting KPIs for Kia EU PR results and monitoring coverage expectations at market-level. Focus on coaching and developing the PR team, supporting their professional growth and knowledge development. Ensure all PR initiatives align with Kia's overall brand strategy and messaging, maintaining consistency across all journalist touchpoints. Develop and maintain a crisis communication plan, including key messaging and processes, to ensure effective responses to reputational or operational issues. Identify opportunities for Kia executives to contribute thought leadership content e.g. interviews and speaking engagements to enhance the brand's authority. Lead PR efforts related to Kia’s sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives, ensuring key messages are effectively communicated. Your talents: A degree in Public Relations, Journalism and/or Media Communications is highly advantageous. Minimum 7 years of experience in a relevant field. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English (additional European languages are a plus). Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and meet deadlines. Proactive, creative, and eager to take initiative in PR activities. Proven experience in producing PR tools, including press releases, creating media lists, and responding to press inquiries, is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel highly desired. Who are we?
