The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced European Distribution Centre (EDC) Operations lead to oversee our largest distribution centre in the EMEA region and second largest globally. This pivotal role will encompass strategic, operational, and tactical responsibilities, with a primary focus on driving operational efficiency, optimizing processes, and ensuring the highest standards of customer service. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building and leading an exceptionally high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities include:
* Accountable for EDC Performance in Ensuring Uninterrupted Supply: Drive strategic initiatives with the 3PL to optimize distribution operations, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted supply to customers while aligning with company objectives.
* Champion Continuous Improvement for Best-in-Class Operations: Lead a culture of excellence and continuous improvement by collaborating with the 3PL to implement best practices, streamline processes, and elevate efficiency, aiming for top-quartile performance.
* Set and Monitor KPIs for Quality and Reliability: Establish and be accountable for KPIs that align with the Solventum Global Logistics standards to ensure exceptional quality, reliable delivery, and adherence to performance targets, enabling the EDC to meet or exceed customer expectations.
* Ensure Resilient and Agile Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee the 3PL's daily operations—including inbound/outbound logistics, inventory, and order fulfillment—ensuring the agility and resilience needed to adapt to changing demands.
* Foster a High-Performing and Aligned EDC Team: Lead the partnership with the 3PL team to develop a collaborative, results-driven culture that supports top performance in line with company standards and customer needs.
* Promote Cross-Functional Collaboration for Seamless Operations: Partner with internal teams—supply chain, procurement, commercial, quality, and customer service—to standardize and simplify processes, ensuring cohesive and optimized operations across the network.
* Drive Optimization and Advanced Capacity Management: Utilize advanced capacity management models with the 3PL to maximize space utilization, improve material flow, and optimize resources, achieving cost-efficiency and flexibility.
* Lead Industry Innovation and Process Standardization: Monitor industry trends and best practices to drive operational standardization and innovation, ensuring that the EDC contributes to a simplified, globally standardized operating system.
* Build Accountability and a Learning Culture: Instill a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and ownership within the 3PL, empowering them to take responsibility for quality, performance, and continuous optimization in all aspects of the EDC.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Logistics orSupply Chain or a related field
* extensive experience working in and managing high volume healthcare distribution centers
* Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of successfully managing teams, fostering engagement, and leading change in dynamic logistics environments.
* Analytical and strategic mindset, with proven skills in data analysis, process improvement, and performance benchmarking.
* Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and adaptability skills, with the ability to thrive in complex, fast-paced environments and to influence cross-functional teams.
* Strong track record of achieving measurable results and maintaining best-in-class operations. Focuses on performance metrics and uses data to continuously enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction
* Skilled in identifying root causes of challenges and developing practical, creative solutions that drive ongoing improvements in EDC operations. Able to think critically and make data-driven decisions to optimize processes and resource utilization.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
* Master's degree in in Logistics or Supply Chain
Work location:
* Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require some travel to Seefeld (Germany) when required).
Travel: May include up to 10%
