The External Relations and Communications Section (ERCS) builds and nurtures corporate donor relations, strategically leads the donor resource mobilization platform and conducts coherent communications efforts to highlight the value of volunteerism for peace and development and the contributions of UNV and UN Volunteers. ERCS also leads and manages UNV's corporate strategic partnership relations and alliances with Member States, intergovernmental, non-governmental organizations, financial institutions, civil society, academia, media, and the private sector to promote UNV's mandate and initiatives, raise awareness and stimulate action to advance UNV's global agenda and resource mobilization. The Communications Team under the the External Relations and Communications Section, focuses on clear and effective messaging to increase the visibility and impact of UNV. It raises awareness on the work of UN Volunteers and of volunteerism and its contribution to development among UNV stakeholders, encourages support of volunteerism for development, including observation of IVD, and produces and promotes materials (social media content, graphics, videos, website, annual report, etc.) to highlight UNV’s work, its contribution to partners’ objectives and support for volunteerism for development. Scope of Work The Multimedia Analyst will lead the production of high-quality video and graphic design content to showcase the work of UN Volunteers, promote UNV’s mission, and highlight volunteer contributions to the UN system. This role involves planning, producing, and editing videos while collaborating with regional offices to identify stories, pitch new concepts, and ensure alignment with communication strategies. The Analyst will also design graphics for social media, reports, and campaigns, develop templates for international events, and maintain consistent branding across platforms. The Analyst will support regional offices with video and graphic guidelines, oversee the UNV photo library by organizing, tagging, and curating visuals, and ensure seamless integration of multimedia assets into UNV’s global communication efforts. Additionally, the Analyst will provide technical support, liaise with vendors, and stay updated on emerging trends to enhance audience engagement and ensure brand coherence. Institutional Arrangement The Multimedia Analyst will report to Social Media Specialist (IPSA10) in ERCS, who will advise on tasks/requests from the global communications team and the UN Partners. Duties and Responsibilities A) Lead Video Production Plan, produce, and edit high-quality videos that highlight the work of UN Volunteers, promote UNV at corporate events, and showcase volunteer contributions to the UN system; Actively think of a new concepts and pitch new video ideas within UNV HQ communications team, staying updated on emerging trends and integrating them into video strategies to enhance audience engagement; Work closely with regional offices to identify potential stories, pitch video concepts, and coordinate the sourcing of videos for development. Ensure alignment with UNV’s communication and social media strategies; Provide technical support to Regional Offices for video editing, including color correction, sound mixing, and subtitling. Offer constructive feedback to ensure videos meet quality and branding standards; Ensure subtitles are available in all UN official languages for inclusivity and broader accessibility; Collaborate with regional offices and partners to source, curate, and edit video content customized for specific audiences and regional context; Support the development of video templates and provide clear guidelines for regional offices to ensure the production of on-brand videos across all regions. B) Graphic design and multimedia creation Plan, produce, and design graphics, infographics and social media cards produce cards for ongoing daily social media postings (fro Instagram, X, Facebook and LinkedIn), for international campaigns, reports, promotional materials, and publications, ensuring alignment with UNV’s branding guidelines; Create graphic templates for international days, key events, and campaigns using tools like Canva, and distribute them to regional offices to maintain consistent branding; Develop layouts for publications, presentations, and infographics, transforming complex information into visually accessible formats; Actively think of a new graphic ideas and pitch new concepts within corporate communications team, staying updated on emerging trends and integrating them into graphic and multimedia visual strategies to enhance audience engagement; Identify and synthesize best practices in graphic design, contributing to knowledge networks and communication repositories for global and regional use; Oversee the design and production of branded materials, including logos and digital assets, and ensure their accessibility for internal and external stakeholders; Liaise with external vendors for the production of digital and print content, providing design mockups and ensuring alignment with brand standards; Define and enforce brand guidelines to ensure all visual materials adhere to UNV’s visual identity across platforms and regions. C) Support with the UNV photo library Sort through photos regularly uploaded to Chorus by Regional Offices, classifying, tagging and rating them with relevant info for future use; Provide guidance to Regional Offices on how to use Chorus and ensure that photos are uploaded with required metadata and information; Upload a selection of the best old UNV photos and visuals to Chorus from SharePoint, classifying, tagging and rating them with relevant info; Select the photos that will stay on Chorus and store other on UNV’s Archives (platform to be agreed); Compile collections with best 2025 photos for use in various communications products; Ensure transfer to Chorus of photos uploaded by UN Volunteers to the Volunteer Reporting Application. Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Political Science, Public or Business Administration, or related field is required. A first level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience will be given a due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience: Minimum 2 years (with Master’s degree) or 4 years (with Bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience in communication and partnership with at least 1 year at an international organization. Required skills: Experience in planning, producing, and editing high-quality videos, including technical skills in color correction, sound mixing, and subtitling is required; Proven experience in creating graphics, infographics, and layouts for social media, publications, and promotional materials is required; Experience with tools like Adobe CC or similar and Canva is required. Desired skills: Work experience with United Nations is an asset; Experience with photo management systems (e.g., Chorus) and metadata tagging to organize and curate a library of high-quality visuals is an asset; Experience of working on social media is an asset; Experience of creating digital campaigns for social media campaigns is an asset. Languages: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in another official UN language is an asset.
