The Position As an experienced drug discoverer and key contributor to both local and global department leadership teams, you will provide strong organizational leadership for the In Vitro Pharmacology team to drive pipeline development in respiratory diseases. Tasks & responsibilities - As Associate Director you will be responsible for leading the implementation of all strategic and tactical in-vitro priorities to support core TPP and RTP guidelines to strengthen pipeline decision-making and prioritization. - This includes the presentation of data in team meetings and the required documentation to guarantee successful project transitions. - As experienced leader of people, you will be responsible for line management, growth and motivation of 3-5 in-vitro lableaders - you will ensure the establishment of novel techniques within the department, such as primary human epithelial cell co-cultures. - You will represent our science within a collaborative scientific community and proactively seeking opportunities to collaborate within Boehringer Ingelheim to strengthen I&R portfolio competitiveness. Requirements - Doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, MD) with major focus on Biology and/or Biopharmaceuticals with longstanding experience in in-vitro technologies within the pharmaceutical industry - Strong background in drug discovery to drive innovation and execution in early portfolio - Ability to organize and manage complex, cross-functional projects and programs - Proven ability to lead laboratory teams & supervise students - Excellent interpersonal, communication and mentoring skills paired with an agile and entrepreneurial mindset - Fluency in English written and spoken, German is an advantage Ready to contact us?
