Leveraged Financing Solutions Italy (LevFin) originates and executes debt transactions supporting leverage buyouts (LBOs) of private equity funds investing in Europe as well as Italian corporates' acquisition needs. LevFin is responsible for all clients' lending-related needs, coordinating with the advisory and coverage teams. UniCredit has consistently been a leading bank in both the Italian LBO market and syndicate loans, having played a tier one role in the most visible deals closed in recent years.
An Associate has broad exposure to senior bankers and clients while working on various transactions such as LBOs, acquisition financings, refinancings, and dividend recaps in both private and public markets.
What you'll be doing
1. Pro-active origination and active dialogue with top-tier sponsor clients across Europe to pitch new LBOs.
2. Review financial and business analysis of LBO targets.
3. Critical analysis and assessment of appropriate debt structures and, together with seniors, review of T&Cs for LBO transactions.
4. Coordination with internal counterparties, including Syndicate, Rating Advisory, Coverage, and M&A.
5. Active involvement in the internal approval process, including memos/credit papers drafting and discussion in credit and business committees.
6. Preparation of marketing materials for syndication and placement of leveraged loans and high-yield bonds.
What you'll need to succeed
1. At least 3 years of investment banking/leveraged finance/private credit experience.
2. Ability to logically analyze large amounts of information; capability to prioritize and multi-task.
3. Autonomous, proactive, pragmatic, and problem-solver attitude; well organized and self-reliant.
4. Strong cooperation mindset used to deal with international teams; pro-active attitude.
5. Flexible to adapt to a rapidly changing and challenging working environment.
6. Strong attention to detail.
7. Proficient in written and spoken English.
8. Strong interpersonal skills.
