Job Description
* During your Master thesis, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team of researchers and optical engineers on the development of novel optical systems.
* You will review academic literature on the microfabrication of sophisticated optical elements.
* Furthermore, you will utilize and improve established fabrication pipelines. This includes integration of new optical components or metrology devices.
* In addition, you will discuss a new fabrication process for an optical element with applications in novel display architectures.
* Ideally, your work will contribute to a joint scientific publication.
Qualifications
* Education: Master studies in the field of Optics/Photonics, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or comparable
* Experience and Knowledge: applied knowledge of optics; background in scientific programming with Python; ideally previous fabrication experience with meta-optics, diffractive optics, holographic optical elements or photonic devices as well as in an optical laboratory or clean room environment
* Personality and Working Practice: you are a reliable and communicative team player
* Languages: business fluent in German or English

Duration: 6 - 12 months
