Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Lead the Procurement organization globally, including:
* Define Procurement strategy and drives implementation
* Drive procurement performance efficiency, capability and capacity optimization
* Manage key stakeholders and business representatives
Key Responsibilities:
Define Procurement strategy and drive implementation
* Develop strategic direction in alignment with overall adidas business strategy to achieve Procurement objectives and long-term development plan
* Communicate overall procurement mission, vision and guiding principles internally
* Amend strategy and plans in response to the changing business environment
Drive procurement performance efficiency, capability and capacity optimization
* Establish global targets
* Deliver on targets across all category areas
Lead the Procurement organization
* Develop and execute on yearly action plan to upgrade the Procurement organization
* Clearly communicate performance expectations and proactively address issues related to performance
* Lead team members in accordance with adidas management principles to support the organisation’s overall leadership focus
* Act as a mentor and coach of selected talent
* Develop and execute on resource retention strategy
Manage key stakeholders and business representatives
* Convey communication relating to vision & mission throughout global/market/local organisation
* Cascade key organisational messages throughout the organisation
* Ensure “buy-in” from key stakeholders for major Procurement initiatives, and communicate cost reduction strategic plans and targets
* Ensure business needs are being represented & incorporated into category strategies
Support key sourcing initiatives and management of core suppliers
* Support major global strategic sourcing activities
* Lead supplier development activities for key global suppliers
* Lead cross-functional review meetings with suppliers to improve performance and further reduce cost
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Expert in sourcing and procurement methodologies and concepts, business partnering and category management
* Expert in procurement strategy development and conveyance
* Extensive knowledge of procurement tools and data, content and automation
* Expert in supplier risk management and compliance management
* Expert in relationship management and business partnering, as well as people management
* Strong communication skills with impact
* Expert in understanding financial data and procurement/finance KPIs
* Extensive capability to independently interact throughout the adidas Group
* Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
* Action oriented and solution minded team player with high degree of self-management
* Fluent in English, spoken and written
* Travel of up to 30%
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
* A master’s degree with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, procurement or legal, or comparable professional education
* At least 20+ years working experience with 5 to 10 years of experience in similar or adequate senior procurement leadership role, preferable with transformational and people management elements
* Highly experienced in driving procurement transformations across of all areas of procurement (Strategic, Operational and Transactional)
* Highly proficient in existing and emerging procurement technologies
* Highly experience in end to end procurement processes
