Role Description
DFDS successfully expanded its intermodal activities during 2023 and has set ambitious targets for future growth. To drive that growth, we now seek a business development driven person with intermodal Sales & Commercial experience for our Intermodal team in Troisdorf, Germany. This position will include the development, management, and organization of business development and strategic operations within our Business Unit Rail.
Principal Responsibilities
* Representative of DFDS Rail, together with other Development team members, across the DFDS Logistics network and Ferry terminals.
* Contact for all questions regarding business model, products, etc. of DFDS Rail Business.
* Support development of intermodal business of the DFDS Rail, and be contact for customer, set up and general questions regarding the rail business.
* Provide training on rail business / intermodal solutions to the different employees of DFDS Rail.
* Support and participate in customer meetings together with DFDS Rail sales representatives for the purpose of business expansion.
* Quotation preparation and appropriate follow-up.
* Create objectives and KPIs on Market structure that push towards growth.
* Participate in domestic and international sectoral fairs and events to represent DFDS Rail.
* Lead the implementation of new rail transport lines.
* High flexibility in terms of travelling and where the position will be based.
The Ideal Person for This Position Will Have the Following Skills, Experience, and Education
* Experience and success in an Intermodal logistics business development, market manager, or senior sales role.
* Several years of in-depth expertise and market knowledge in intermodal/rail transport.
* Good written and spoken English.
* Proficient standard in MS Office IT skills.
* Proven experience in preparing and presenting Intermodal Business organisation and business models.
* Independent and structured way of working with excellent communication skills and motivational approach to business challenges.
* Result-oriented, based on solid data collected and properly analysed.
