Summary of Role As the Manager, you will be responsible for the Physical Failure Analysis Laboratory, which is part of the central laboratory services organization in FAB1 and which is reporting to Corporate Quality at GlobalFoundries. You will manage the PFA lab and interface with internal and external customers as well as other internal and external labs. You will develop PFA capabilities to support business needs and ensure that PFA knowledge and skills are aligned with GlobalFoundries' technology roadmap. Job Responsibilities: Is the primary PFA interface for process and product development, yield organization, manufacturing and customers. Understands the analysis needs of internal/external stakeholders and proposes PFA technologies with optimized time and cost to meet customer requirements. Collaborates with various engineering teams across the business for root cause analysis and active problem solving. Defines the Failure Analysis flow of new products according to customer expectations. Understands various semiconductor PFA tools and equipment such as Static and Dynamic EMMI, OBIRCH, Thermal Emission, SEM/EDX, FIB, TEM; Nanoprobing, RIE/ICP Delayering, Mechanical and Chemical Etch/Polish/Delayering. Maintains FA laboratory infrastructure (equipment maintenance & calibration, manual) Monitors and improves FA performance against service expectations. Staffs the FA team as required and keeps skills up to date. Required Qualifications: Master’s degree with extensive related work experience in physics, material science, optical, electrical or mechanical engineering, chemical engineering 5 years of relevant experience in the field of semiconductor manufacturing. Ideally strong knowledge and experience of wafer processes and solid background in semiconductor materials/device characterization and yield analysis Some proven experience of management/project management Good experience in problem-solving methods Experience in analytical methods, failure analysis methods and metrology. Fluent in English (written and verbal) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-driven personality with exceptional analytical skills, structured work style and ability to understand complex matters quickly Driven, proactive, accountable, ability to work in a multi-functional and multi-cultural team with minimum supervision. Ability to work under pressure and able to meet strict deadlines.
