Job Title : Part Time On Call Exercise Support Job Summary : Supports Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) events, exercise control groups and high control (HICON) elements for HQ USEUCOM and/or Components as a Part Time On Call (PTOC) Surge Employee. Responsibilities : Serve as a subject matter expert and/or role player to assist in the accomplishment of exercise objectives Participate as part of the HICON cell in the JECG maintaining constant synchronization with all DoD and interagency role players Supports the planning and execution of JELC events, including large exercise planning conferences and Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG) support Formulate and propose changes in strategic direction for the approval of JECG/Exercise leadership Coordinates and assists exercise Action Officers as required in the various planning stages of the exercise Produces various products and reports, as requested Trains and assists EUCOM and Component exercise planners, as needed, through individual instruction and classroom events Participate in daily updates to exercise director via VTC, synchronization meetings, JECG updates, etc. Observe training audience coordination and operational venues in order to have current situational awareness; BPT provide guidance and mentorship as required Performs other tasks in support of the Joint Exercise Program, such as scripting support, adhoc training requests, facilitation, and other administrative tasks Unique Competencies/Experience required for the position : TS/SCI Clearance Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Must have an understanding of the Joint Training System Must have strong verbal and written communication skills Must be organized, detail oriented and able to work independently, establish priorities, organize work and maintain performance under pressure of multiple conflicting deadlines Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; has a current SSBI/PR Demonstrates a strategic perspective Experienced in communication with and advising Strategic Leaders Demonstrated expertise in strategic dialogue Demonstrated problem solver Demonstrated skills in exercise development and exercise design Demonstrated exceptional performance on Strategic Exercises Demonstrates the ability to anticipate problems and quickly identify mitigating actions Demonstrated ability to focus on strategic objectives and how to achieve them on an exercise Demonstrated ability to teach and coach senior leaders Demonstrated ability to synchronize all facets of exercise control group activities during execution Demonstrated expertise in translating national strategic and theater strategic objectives, guidance and direction for interactions with operational level commanders and their staffs Demonstrated ability to integrate US Department of State and other US government agencies and organizations into Department of Defense exercises Demonstrated expertise in crafting, articulating and promulgating USG Strategic Communication messaging and themes Should have 10 years of Military experience with a minimum of 2 years Combatant Command headquarters staff or in support of a CCMD HQ staff Should possess a working knowledge of United States’ Interagency processes and government agency activities Percentage of Travel Required : Up to 100%
