Job Description The need and demand for determining the thermal conductivity of insulation materials is increasing rapidly worldwide. A standard method is stationary thermal conductivity testing. In order to optimize accuracy and repeatability of this test method, dissipation effects need to be modelled. So far, the only way to compensate for these unwanted effects has been to use a lot of equipment. The objective of the task described is to gain better understanding of these effects, both experimentally and theoretically, with respect to optimizing stationary thermal conductivity measurements. Experimental analysis of the stationary methods for determination of the thermal conductivity Modelling of the physical process of the thermal conductivity test methods applied Implementation of the model, calculation of selected cases and validation with experimental results Derivation of theoretical approaches for optimizing thermal conductivity determination Close collaboration with the development team and detailed documentation of the results as part of a master's or diploma thesis
