Job Purpose Role The Head of Protection & Resilience is responsible for ensuring the business continuity, crisis management, and security resilience of Allianz Direct. This role oversees the Protection & Resilience (P&R) framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Allianz internal policies. The role also leads efforts to strengthen operational resilience, mitigate risks, and enhance incident response capabilities. As the leader of the Protection & Resilience team, this role requires strategic oversight, operational expertise, and strong collaboration across key functions such as IT, Information Security, and Data Privacy. The Head of Protection & Resilience is responsible for ensuring the business continuity, crisis management, and security resilience of Allianz Direct. Key responsibilities Leadership & Governance Lead the Protection & Resilience team, overseeing internal and external teams responsible for business continuity, incident response, and security resilience. Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for Protection & Resilience, ensuring alignment with Allianz Direct’s risk management framework. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, Allianz internal policies, and industry best practices related to business resilience and security. Act as the primary point of contact for senior leadership on all matters related to Protection & Resilience. Business Continuity & Incident Management Manage the Business Continuity Management (BCM) and IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) systems, ensuring all critical processes have robust contingency plans. Lead the preparation and response efforts for crises, emergencies, and major incidents, coordinating cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Oversee regular business continuity testing, scenario planning, and incident simulations to validate resilience measures. Ensure continuous monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of resilience capabilities across the organization. Security & Operational Resilience Oversee the Protective Security Management system, ensuring a structured approach to physical, information, and cybersecurity. Collaborate with IT, Information Security, and Data Privacy teams to enhance Allianz Direct’s overall resilience posture. Develop risk mitigation strategies to address emerging threats, including cloud security, cyber threats, and regulatory changes. Implement and maintain an effective reporting and governance structure, providing senior leadership with visibility into protection and resilience performance. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training Serve as Allianz Direct’s representative in group-wide Protection & Resilience communities and working groups, ensuring knowledge-sharing and alignment with global standards. Drive awareness and training programs on crisis management, resilience planning, and emergency response across the organization. Foster a culture of resilience, ensuring employees understand their role in business continuity and security preparedness. Qualifications/Key skills Technical Skills Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to business resilience (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST, Allianz internal frameworks). Cloud security and resilience considerations Ideally background/ experience in Information Technology Required Experience Experience in Protection & Resilience, Business Continuity, Risk Management, or Security Governance in a multinational environment ( Minimum 7 to 10 years) Strong experience in Business Continuity Management (BCM), Crisis Management, and Information Security or equivalent function (Minimum 7 to 10 years ) Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, with experience in managing cross-functional stakeholders.(Minimum 3 to 5 years ) General Skills Problem-solving, decision-making, and crisis management skills Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities, with the capability to engage with senior leadership Confident, clear and effective communication skills both written and verbal Strong collaboration across business units and key functions such as IT, Information Security, and Data Privacy Required Education / Certifications Bachelor's degree in risk management, security studies, business administration, or a related field Experience in risk management, information security, or business continuity planning Certification as Crisis Manager or BCM Lead Auditor 70331 | Operations | Management | | Allianz Direct | Full-Time | Permanent Allianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
